Treyarch has unleashed an epic new trailer for Call of Duty: Black Ops, which debuted across the pond last night. It’s soundtracked by the the Rolling Stones’ Gimme Shelter, in an echo of the helicopter scene from Apocalypse Now, and comes packed with cinematic snapshots of what’s to come in just under a fortnight. Call of Duty: Black Ops will be hitting the shelves in just over a week on 9 November, and has been enormously hyped, not least for its zombie mode. While there’s no obvious sign of the Call of Duty: Black Ops zombie mode here, it’s packed full of explosions, and a particularly amazing looking base jump.

The trailer also calls Call of Duty: Black Ops “the biggest game of 2010″. What do you reckon? Big words when you’re competing with Halo:Reach, or is this an easy win for Treyarch?
