We caught the polished alumininium bad boy at CES earlier this year, when we, along with everyone else, left mucky fingerprints all over its mirrored body. Apple has been granted a patent for a feature that screens objectionable text messages, whether you’re sending or receiving them. The snappily titled Apple patent is officially called “Text-based communication control for personal communication device”. Which translates to sext message screening. Whether it’ll also cut out Jobs’ other bugbear, gambling, isn’t clear.

Apache: Air Assault


After colossal success in the first-person shooter genre with the Modern Warfare series, Activision is hoping for more success in the war flight sim space, with Apache: Air Assault. Apache: Air Assault is no regular flight sim though, it’s a missiles an’ all military helicopter blast ‘em up aiming to deliver the most realistic war-going flight experience, with help from a former real-life Apache pilot. Earlier on we were dropped straight into the cockpit for our first play. This way for our impressions so far.

UPDATE: We’ve got more details on the Lovefilm PS3 movie streaming plans in our exclusive interview. Check it out!

Lovefilm will soon be landing on the Sony PS3, the DVD rental service has confirmed – though it has yet to set a precise date. This should come as no surprise since the service is already available on Sony Bravia internet connected TVs, but the more the merrier, we say.

As with previous IPTV offerings, it appears Lovefilm on the PS3 will only let you stream films that are free for subscribers, and not Pay Per View movies available to stream on a desktop PC, but we’ve asked for clarification, and it’s a welcome move nonetheless. Now, where’s that Lovefilm Wii version it’s been testing?
