When asked to review the new Amazon Kindle, I expected to find myself tearing it apart. Truth is, despite my love of gadgetry, I’ve always been skeptical of e-readers. I love books, for all the same reasons lovers of books tend to: the physical object, the smell of old pages, all that romanticised guff that’s been said before. And so in my previous encounters with e-readers I have mostly found myself unimpressed, turning my nose up at the dreary grey e-ink screens. Not this one though. No, no. Got your eyes on the Samsung Omnia 7? The first Windows Phone 7 handset sporting the South Korean giant’s Super AMOLED panel is up for pre-order right now over on T-Mobile. It’s free on £35 per month, two year contracts, but nicely, there are options to see how much you’ll pay upfront if you choose anything from £10 per month and up. HTC Desire HD unboxed: photos and video!

There’s another price point in for the Samsung Galaxy Tab, as Carphone Warehouse announces its prices online, and this time it looks solid. The Samsung Galaxy Tab will be available unlocked through the Carphone Warehouse for £530 as a standalone unit, or £500 with a £10 per month 30-day rolling contract with TalkMobile.

UPDATE: Samsung has refused to comment on the pricing, but Carphone Warehouse has assured us it is an official price, and it will “absolutely not” be changing.

Finally, someone has hooked up smartphones with DAB radio. Nokia has announced its Nokia Digital Radio Headset today, which is compatible with Symbian 3 Nokia smartphones. That means that it will work with the Nokia N8, the Nokia C7, E6 and C6. The downside is that the headset will set you back about the same amount as a low end digital radio.

A white iPhone 4 spotted in New York by Pocket-Lint recently offered more than just answers to Apple’s manufacturing woes (it is, as was suspected, a problem with manufacturing the white phone on a large scale). It also appears to show a hardware redesign for the iPhone 4 antenna.
