Nullsoft has released the beta of WinAmp for Android. Although a name associated with the early days of PC MP3 listening, the Android incarnation packs some surprisingly modern features.

Confirmed: the Samsung Galaxy S Froyo update that began trickling out elsewhere in Europe last week will roll out in these isles next month. If you’re on an unlocked phone, you should have it by early November provided you download the new version of Samsung’s desktop Kies software, while the company says all networks will have the Android 2.2 Froyo upgrade “fully tested and downloadable by the end of November”
