Just yesterday we were hearing rumbles that Apple was in talks concerning a buyout of Spotify, with TechCrunch claiming that the two parties were in “on again, off again” discussions. Well, Spotify has today said that’s all bunk.
“We wouldn’t normally comment on this kind of speculation,” a spokesman said, “but we want to make it clear that we have absolutely no intention of selling Spotify.”
It doesn’t get much more black and white than that. The representative also said that the Spotify team was “working hard to build the best music service we can and [we] are in this for the long haul.”
So that’s it for the Apple/Spotify rumours. For a while, at least.
