The Amazon Kindle may be selling like warmed-through baked goods, but there are plenty of other eReaders vying for your literary dollar – like the Samsung E65, which has just hit the market in the UK. It boasts a 6-inch 600 x 800 eInk screen, full QWERTY keyboard, Wi-Fi and a digital stylus for making notes.

It supports ePub, pdf, txt and Word documents. Other specs on the Samsung E65 include 2GB of built-in storage, expandable via a microSD card slot, support for both text-to-speech and MP3 playback, and a user accessible battery. There’s a pretty beefy 667MHz processor that apparently shaves seconds off the start-up time, as well as support for Outlook appointments, which can be synced over from a computer.

I bought one of these today as it was half price at PC World but after owning a Kindle I can say that the Samsung E65 is truly inferior. Yes it may be able to read epub format but the ghosting on the screen is awful. I won't take it back for a refund though as it will prove a useful back up and also something for my 6 year old son to read from.
