This weekend there’ll be ghouls, ghosts and geeks roaming the nation’s streets as Halloween kicks into full gear. To celebrate in high tech style, we want you to carve a geeked out pumpkin, and send us photos for your chance to win Amazon or iTunes vouchers and an exclusive Electricpig mug! Read on for some inspiration, and then get carving!

Carving the surface is just half the job – next you need to decide how to light your creation. Maybe you’ll go old school with a couple of tealights, or perhaps you’ll geek out with an LED candle or two? Got any better ideas? Then wow us with your handiwork!
Appy Halloween
Don’t fancy getting your hands dirty? No problem. We’d be fools not to also accept code-based submissions. Maybe you’ll create an iPhone app that simulates a pumpkin? Perhaps there’s an Android app you could use to scare us into awarding you a prize. As long as it resembles the all-important orange veg, we’ll be happy.

Sending us your handiwork couldn’t be easier. Just log onto Facebook.com/electricpig and add your photos, screengrabs or videos to our wall. We’ll choose the best of the bunch on November 1st, giving you a week to work on your creation.

The competition, and the pride that comes with being a winner, is open to anyone, any age, in any country and closes at 23:59 GMT on Monday November 1st 2010. However, to qualify for an Electricpig mug and vouchers from Amazon or iTunes the winner must be a UK resident. Our usual terms and conditions also apply.
