If you listen carefully you may make out a faint squawking noise, getting ever closer and more annoyed. That would be the sound of an incoming Angry Birds plush toy, ready to smash its way through the Christmas stocking-filler market. What we want to know is – where are the pigs?
Angry Birds continues its march to full-spectrum media dominance with the first pics of the new line of toys. We have had promises of a TV cartoon, a film as well as the toys. We expect they are working on a breakfast cereal. We understand they make games too.
The toys don’t yet have a release date, but if they aren’t on sale by Christmas we would be very surprised indeed. Rovio has released pics of the five main bird varieties – the basic-yet-tough Red, exploding Black, speedy Yellow, clusterbombing Blue and egg-dropping White.
The pigs, though, are conspicuous by their absence. This is frankly unacceptable. Rovio, you need to sort this out. Some Meccano-style construction materials wouldn’t go amiss either. Oh, and a catapult. I think you see where we are going with this.
