The post-apocalyptic world of the Fallout games is full of bugs. You’ve got your giant scorpions, your bloatflys, giant ants and the ubiquitous radroaches. Fallout: New Vegas comes with quite a few more, alas.

“Fallout game contains bugs” is not much of a headline – Bethesda titles usually come with a few shonky graphical glitches and similar problems, in common with much of the games industry. Fallout: New Vegas, however, seems to be crawling with the things.

Players dipping their toes into the post-nuke sequel have reported hovering lizards (no, not even the mutagen virus could make them fly) characters with rotating heads (this happens during the intro for goodness’ sake) and opponents who break open to reveal other character models.

Our favourite bug has to be the one shown in the video clip below – the Moonwalking Dog. Look at him go! The mutt has moves. He’s bad(ly animated).

Damn, that dog has some moves. Wonder what happens when you bring up the VATS?

In all seriousness though, there certainly are a few bugs, as I mentioned in our review. My PS3 copy hung a few times, and I once ended up stuck floating on a ledge I couldn't get back or down from at one point. Not seen any odd character movements though.

Yet in spite of all this, it's still my favourite game of the year so far. It's that good.

Bethesda shouldn't have let another developer ruin the reputation that Fallout 3 built up, it could really damage the success of future titles.

That's not the way I'd look at it: Obsidian's team is made up of the people who created the first Fallout games at Black Isle. And frankly they've improved upon fallout 3. But er yeah, bring on a patch.
