Sonic looks set to star in another retread of his classic battles. Sonic Anniversary, a new game featuring old levels given a new lick of paint for next gen consoles is reportedly the way. The rumour which comes from a Sega rep at Madrid’s Gamefest 2010. Sonic 4: Episode 1 already sees remakes of old levels, isn’t it time we got some new adventures for Sonic, not old ones reheated?

The Sonic Anniversary rumour suggests it’ll be a mix of levels from previous games given a new twist. That means you’ll get a melange of 3D and 3D levels. Sonic Anniversary is apparently coming to PS3, PSP and Wii but there’s no news of love for the Xbox 360 right now.

There’s also talk hotting up of another Mario and Sonic title with word of a Mario & Sonic At The 2012 Summer Olympics game and even a possible platformer on the cards.
