Samsung Omnia 7 was just unveiled, with the Korean tech giant eager not to be outdone by the likes of the LG Optimus and HTC Windows 7 phones in hopping aboard the Microsoft bandwaggon. It’s a neat Windows Phone 7 handset, with a roomy 4 inch Super AMOLED screen. Read on, and we’ll spill the rest of Samsung’s beans.
The Samsung OMNIA 7 (officially entitled the Samsung GT-I8700) is the Korean firm’s first Windows Phone 7 mobile. Up front there’s a 4-inch Super AMOLED touch screen, while inside there’s the 1GHz processor and 5 megapixel camera with LED flash required by Microsoft’s minimum Windows Phone 7 spec.
All the usual Microsoft services are inside, including Xbox Live and Zune media software, and Samsung says we should expect the Omnia 7 to land in the UK in the final quarter of 2010.
T-Mobile is the first to announce it’ll stock the Omnia 7, announcing it’ll stock the phone from 21st October, from £35 a month on a 24 month contract.
On top of all the usual Windows Phone 7 goodies, Samsung’s packed in the “Now Hub” an exclusive news, weather and stocks service powered by Reuters, as well as an “Enhanced Camera experience with simple & quick photo sharing to multiple Social Networking sites.”
