The tidy looking Nokia C7 Symbian 3 smartphone unveiled at Nokia World last month has begun shipping to customers around the world, according to the company. Yay, right? The Symbian 3 support has arrived! Alas, there’s one slight catch: it’s still not even up for pre-order in the UK.

Nokia’s just made a curious statement to the press, declaring that the Nokia C7 is now shipping, and declaring it to be the company’s “second Symbian 3 smartphone to hit the market”. That could still prove to be true, but it’s worth pointing out that the first, the Nokia N8 still isn’t on sale, and won’t be until Friday. Oh, and also, the Nokia C7 isn’t even up for pre-order on Nokia’s UK website. Go figure.

We’ve contacted Nokia to find out who exactly these customers are, but if you’re not one of them, don’t get too downcast. From our hands on time with the Nokia C7, we’d say it’s one worth waiting for: it’s packing the same Symbian 3 skills as the Nokia N8, an eight megapixel sensor and 3.5-inch AMOLED screen, for less money. That spells win to us.
