The HTC Desire HD and HTC Desire Z set of remote services just went live. HTCSense.com is the HTC version of MobileMe, and means you can fiddle around with your phone when it’s not in your hand, and find it when it’s lost. At launch, John Wang, the chief marketing officer at HTC, said that HTCSense.com will “provide the capability to manage, control and customise the customer experience”.

Sadly, HTCSense.com is only compatible with HTC Desire HD and HTC Desire Z devices so far. But hey, if you were looking for an excuse to upgrade to the HTC Desire HD, this seems like the perfect opportunity. HTCSense.com means you can force a lost phone on silent to ring, find out where you left it, or even locate a thief who half inched it. You can also erase data, lock the phone, and leave a lost and found message on the screen.

A sync system for HTCSense.com also lets you log in remotely and search for text messages, then sync information with your phone. So, for example, if you’ve been sent an address, you can locate the SMS at HTCSense.com, then save the location to the HTC Footprints app, which then syncs with your HTC Desire HD or Z. Best of all, HTCSense.com is a free service for HTC Desire Hd and HTC Desire Z customers. Take a peek here.
