Facebook has been busy recently. We had Facebook Places in August, big Facebook gaming plans two weeks ago and improvements to Facebook Photos last week. Now there’s yet another Facebook event scheduled for this Wednesday at 10am Palo Alto time (6pm GMT). Facebook hasn’t dropped any hints about what it’ll have to say but we’ve rounded up some theories after the break…
Talk of the “Facebook Phone” caused a lot of whispers and speculation earlier this month but Mark Zuckerberg suggested we’d see nothing like that from the social network for at least a few years. Could he have been indulging in a bit of Steve Jobs-style misdirection? That’s one theory floating around about Wednesday’s Facebook event with the idea that a new INQ Facebook phone might break cover.
Another potential announcement is the official Facebook iPad app. While we’ve had a Facebook iPhone app for what seems like eons, an official Facebook iPad app has been conspicuous by its absence. There are alternative Facebook iPad apps out there but the genuine article would be a welcome arrival.
Other suggestions include further updates to Facebook Places (would that be worth a whole event?), an expansion of Facebook Credits (a massive earner for Facebook) and the Facebook bar (a browser add-on outed at F8 but not launched yet). Do any of those rumours sound right to you? Hit the comments and tell us what you think Facebook will announce and, more importantly, what you want Facebook to announce…
