We liked Final Fantasy 13 and have been scanning the world for more news on Final Fantasy 13 part 2 ever since we finished it. So it’s intriguing to spot an interview with Final Fantasy 13 producer Yoshinori Kitase hinting that Final Fantasy 13 part 2 is on the way and that Square Enix is beavering away on it right now…
In an interview published in the Final Fantasy XIII Ultimania Omega guide, Kitase says he’s planning something to help Final Fantasy fans get more from the mythology and featuring elements that won’t make it into Final Fantasy Versus 13. That sounds like the Final Fantasy 13 part 2 title we were promised.
Kitase wouldn’t reveal whether his mystery game is definitely Final Fantasy 13 part 2 – he says that depends on fan reaction. However, Final Fantasy 13 director Motomu Toriyama dropped a big hint, chipping in to say: “I’d like at some point to make a story where Lightning ends up happy.”
Whether or not it is Final Fantasy 13 part 2, Kitase also confirmed that the Final Fantasy 13 team is working on its next game right now. He stated that it’ll feature elements that they weren’t able to include in Final Fantasy 13 DLC. We shouldn’t have too long to wait either. Kitase we’ll see it in the next two year.
Holler up in the comments and let us know: do you want to see Final Fantasy 13 part 2 or is another extension to the Final Fantasy universe getting you fired up?
