PlayStation Move games are still thin on the ground, with only a handful having been released since we got our hands on the bubble headed Move controllers. Is this lack of decent content for the PlayStation Move a trend that is set to continue, and perpetuate, leading to the slow death of the PlayStation Move in favour of less Ann Summers-like controllers, or are we just being impatient?

As always, while we might have our own suspicions about the direction the PlayStation Move is headed in, we’re often far too cynical. We want to hear from you, to hear about whether you’re spending more time thinking more about the phallic design of the PlayStation Move than you are actually playing games with it.

Some games wouldn’t be appropriate for the Move, that’s a given (who could play Call of Duty seriously when wafting around a thing mounted with a glowing pink ball?), but there are lots that could work with the PlayStation Move. What do you want to see with Move compatibility? Drop us a line in the comments, and click and tell us whether you think the PlayStation Move will ever give rise to any truly great games.

I'd say Flight Control is, nearly – I mean, that's why it's on our recommended list at the top. But it alone isn't worth the entry price of Move, though the game itself is a bargain. But I'd love to see something more advanced and in depth get move treatment, and not bolted on. A new Star Wars Force Unleashed game perhaps? FU2 is just around the corner, but no Move support alas.

I remain to be convinced about Move… My experience with Wii has been that the really great games are always Nintendo's own brand titles… makes me doubtful, although Heavy Rain has me intrigued, and show's there's scope for bonkers titles down the line too.

Anyone played Table Tennis, or regular Tennis using Move? It's very good. Movement is incredibly precise. You can make the ball go anywhere you want just like the real thing by doing the same actions you would in real life. The next serious Tennis game to come out on Move could be one of the best ever. Of course we need more than Tennis games to justify PlayStation Move, but with Wii we wanted more precise movement, Move delivers that. We wanted better graphics, move delivers that on PS3, so the future's bright. I'm not actually that impressed with Kinect so far, from my own hands on (off) experience. From what I've played it's better at recognising solid gestures rather than swift fluid movements.

Agreed, the Table Tennis on Sports Champions is fantastic, and the best example of Move's potential so far – what I played of Racket Sports though was pretty sloppy however.

RE Kinect, I'm actually still very excited about it. I do think families will like that jump in, jump out gaming, no controller required at all. And for me, i just want to be able to flick through the dashboard, Zune and videos without a remote.

good luck as using your hand as a pointer is the most horrible experience you ever will have, trust me i played on kinect

The pointers aren't bad depending on the game's calibration. If it's just click at the screen (flight control, tumble) then its ok. But if it requires more sophisticated calibration (shoot 4 sides of screen) then you get it being quite accurate. The best part is that when calibrating, you don't have to point it at the screen. I calibrate it with the move pointing higher, because it's the most comfortable way i sit with the move.

Agreed, Sports champions is a real fun game, and shows of the moves tech perfectly (I think this website havent played sports champions) and another great game to play with the move when you want to chill out and work the old brain matter is Tumble, its so in tune with your movements you forget your holding the controller and you really are reaching out for a block and grabbing it and twisting and turning it to fit exactly where you want.

The article really seems like they've not played on Move at all or at least watched someone else playing with it. Case in point the glowing ball… Anyone actually even notice the ball when they're playing?

        Hi Gig

We've tested Move thoroughly, and reviewed almost every launch game, including Sports Champions, see here http://www.electricpig.co.uk/2010/09/01/sports-champions-for-playstation-move-review/ We praised the game for its impressive 1:1 control more than a month ago – but the thing is, despite this, with so many good “traditional” games just around the corner, it's hard to stay motivated. Why play what is essentially repetitive (Archery) when you oculd be playing CoD Black Ops or Fallout New Vegas. I'm struggling to answer that at the moment.

    Biased piece of crap website.

well, considering im playing MAG exclusively with the move these days, i think it could fit in other FPS perfectly. also, RE5 proves it will also work good with thirdperson shooters.

Would love NHL 12 with Move support, like NHL 2k10 on the wii.
Anyway, Move has to act quickly, high quality titles are badly needed, it might be crushed by a new wii HD if it comes out soon enough.

PGA Tiger is Nice. Also MAG with move is good.

  • Drcflame53

i got to say that the move is off to a decent start with the move games. Resident Evil 5, Heavy Rain, R.U.S.E. , M.A.G. and Tiger woods PGA work really well with the move and they are the Hardcore games that everyone hoped the wii would have on there console. So in my opinion the games can only get better from there, rather than getting worse like everyone thinks.

Why would Call of Duty games not work with the Move? if sony starts pushing games that are effective and appealing to Playstation customers then move is going to be a big success. I myself has been pretty happy with the move hoping games like call of duty and socom come out pretty soon!

  • Scamuelb

Sony always does this, brings out a great bit of kit, then fails to utilise it.
Case in point , Play TV updates, Xgame chat , all relatively simple but Sony just like screwing the end user.
And now disabling third party USB peripherals? Sony, you done lost!
