The Samsung Galaxy Tab will arrive on 1 November in the UK, Samsung has confirmed. You’ll be able to get the 7-inch Android tablet at a “range of attractive” prices, none of which Samsung hasn’t elected to release just yet. The Samsung Galaxy Tab will be on sale through “all major networks”, and Samsung says high street stockists will also include Carphone Warehouse and Dixons. Will you be buying?

No i won't be buying one as its not suited as a stand alone device IMO and my Streak is as large as i would go for a stand alone device thats not saying that the Galaxy Tab can't be perfect for anyone else and their use. Until i upgrade in about 6-9 months time I'm more than happy with my choice and if i decide i want or need a larger screen then 5″ i will be looking at a two device solution of a smallish smart phone and a companion device and so far the Blackpad and either the next updated Torch or Bold look like they may fit that best.

I think the next 6-9 months are really going to be interesting as all the so far vaporware turns into real products running a choice of OS's and sizes with options to suit different users be they companion devices or stand alone.units.

Having played with the Tab, I can definitely say that you won't need one if you have a Streak. It's way closer in size to the Streak than it is the iPad.

I am strongly considering a purchase. If it had been a couple hundred quid cheaper I would have been a definite. I like it, I want it, but does it really do enough to justify the price?

In all likely hood I can see myself caving in at some point between now and the release date. I'm quite tempted to be one of the first owners as it's always fun to blog up some of the cool new stuff as it's discovered.

If only it was a little cheaper!

The cost of Samsung Galaxy Tab might be roughly similar to Galaxy S. I went to Mobilephone Expo in Bangkok Thailand and they already start making reservation for Galaxy Tab sim free version at the cost of 22900 Baht or around £470 (roughly same cost as 16GB Galaxy S sold in Thailand) with free desktop dock and car/GPS dock and free GPRS data for 1 year. And if you are member of local Samsaung forum member, you will also receive Bluetooth head set. Therefore it is possible that Galaxy Tab when it on sale in Europe, it can be the same price as simfree version of Galaxy S.

I tried the Galaxy Tab at the expo, but as I already got Galaxy S, I felt that there is not much different between S and Tab version, apart from bigger screen and 1080p HD. Therefore it is very unlikely chance for me to buy Galaxy Tab.
