Toshiba AC100 review: Android 2.1

Ever used an Android phone? You’ll know how to get around the Toshiba AC100 then. Toshiba has given it its own skin (with the biggest addition of a cursor – though you can turn it off) but the basics are still the same. You get five homescreens to slap shortcuts, folders and widgets on, and you can bring up a full app menu, or the menu options within apps with a rich click of the trackpad. Nokia World 2010 Day 2: We’re live!

Nokia World 2010 kicked off in style yesterday in the capital, with the revitalized Finnish phone peddler outing three stunning new Symbian 3 phones, but there could be still more to come here at day two. We’ve just arrived for the opening keynote with father of the web Sir Tim Berners-Lee, and we’ll be covering everything he has to say live, and touring the show floor too, so stick around: we’ve not heard a mention of MeeGo yet, so it might not just be HTC with a killer new smartphone to show today.

The Digital Economy Act has understandably, never been met with cheers from the general populous, and has been criticised and booed from the get go. At last, today, there’s some (moderately) good news for the average web user.

Tick tock it’s technology celebrity rumour o’clock, with everyone’s favourite cranky emailer, Steve Jobs. Today we’re hearing reports that Steve Jobs is packing ninja throwing stars – or was trying to, on a private flight home from Kyoto. After the luggage hoo-ha about him not being able to take weapons onto his own plane, Jobs apparently threw his toys (in this case, ninja weapons) out of the pram and said he would never go back to Japan. Ever. So ner.

(He might not have said that last bit.)
