We’ve had a look at the HTC Desire HD, hands on, with its added screen inches. We wondered whether the larger screen on the HTC Desire HD would mean that it would feel bulky, or too big to make a phone call seriously, but it was perfectly palm-sized, with the extra inches seemingly creating a lot more space on the display. The HTC Desire HD, like the HTC Desire Z, has a Qualcomm chip, giving it an extra speed boost.

The HTC Desire HD will be out on all network operators in the UK, except O2. When asked about why O2 weren’t joining the party, Jon French from HTC, said, rather mysteriously: “That question will be answered very shortly.”

We’re not sure what this could mean, what do you think?

    What's going on there, surely o2 have the strongest network for smartphones just now.

    That sucks.

      Happened with the Legend earlier this year too. Voda's embraced Android much more heavily, while O2 has only really pushed it with the Dell Streak, a niche product. Vodafone probably paid a hefty sum for exclusivity.

        I really hope they strike some deal with o2. It's not exclusive to Vodafone – the other carriers are getting it too, it's only O2 excluded atm.

    Can the HTC desire HD host more than one exchange account?

    O2 are contracted to sell the Dell equivalent; however this runs on android 1.6 – surely a suicidal move for sales if the HTC were also adopted.
