The LG Optimus tablet didn’t make an appearance at LG’s press conference for the Optimus smartphone line today, but LG Mobile boss Scott Ahn did confirm it was coming. When, when, when?
Speaking during a Q&A session with journalists in Seoul today, LG Mobile CEO and president Scott Ahn revealed that the company is “definitely working on it” when asked about an LG Optimus tablet.
But Ahn stressed that it would take time. “Let me underline, we are quite confident we will provide the best of the clan when we are ready…This is the most interesting category but we do not want to introduce just al arge smartphone.. we will produce a best in class tablet…most competitive amongst existing products,” he said.
That’s no doubt a sly dig at the Galaxy Tab from arch rival Samsung, and makes us wonder just what OS an LG Optimus tablet would run – no mention of platform was made, other than Ahn confirming the Optimus brand would cover all smartphone platforms. Chrome OS? Windows Phone 7? Android 3.0? We’ll find out eventually.
