The new Sony Reader Touch PRS-650 has a lot to live up to. The glass touchscreen layer on its 6-inch predecessor made reading in direct light a reflective nightmare, but while the new Sony Reader Touch PRS-650 keeps that (responsive) touch display, there’s no sign of any light bulbs over your shoulder on the page this time.
Otherwise, you’re looking at a 6-inch eInk screen, slots for Sony memory sticks and SD cards, a micro USB charging port and a 3.5mm audio port. All welcome features, along with the ability to sideload any book of your own.
But is the Sony Reader Touch PRS-650 better than the newer, cheaper, thinner Kindle? We’ll have full reviews for you soon so stay tuned.
