Google has been teasing us about the meaning of this week’s Google homepage doodle experiments. Over on Twitter, a Google wrote of yesterday’s bouncing balls: “Boisterous doodle today. Maybe it’s excited about the week ahead…” Of today’s colour-changing Google homepage doodle they write: “Our doodle is dressing up in its brightest colours for something exciting coming very soon…”

The “very soon” looks like it’ll be this afternoon when Google has scheduled an event for the US press to talk about new search innovations. Today’s Google homepage doodle suggests we’ll see the long-rumoured real time search feature unveiled with results updating as you type a query.

But couple today’s Google homepage doodle with yesterday’s kinetic experiment and it looks like the search giant could have a few more surprises up its sleeve. We could also see some more news about Chrome and HTML5 or some entirely new innovation.
