BT has launched a free mobile app for iPhone and Android, reportedly taking the pain out of connecting to one of the company’s 1.6 million Wi-Fi hotspots. The app gives BT Total Broadband customers an automatic connection to any BT OpenZone and BT FON hotspots within range.
The app, which can be downloaded from the iTunes App Store and Android Market, requires only that BT customers log in with their username and password. Once done you can set the app to hook up automatically. It also features a weekly updated mapping service that’ll direct you to the nearest available hotspot.
For every time the app is downloaded, BT will donate 50p to BBC Children In Need (up to a maximum of £10,000).
