Windows Phone 7 is incoming, and it’s going to be packing unlimited music downloads courtesy of Zune Pass. As long as you keep shelling out a subscription fee, that is – and thanks to some leaky Internet tipster we now have a handle on the UK pricing for that very subscription. Read on to find out exactly what a Zune Pass will cost you.

In fact, Zune Pass is priced pretty reasonably (assuming the leaked info is on the money). It’ll set you back £8.99 for a month, or £26.97 for three months. Yes, we know that doesn’t actually represent a discount – why Microsoft didn’t just make it £25 (or less) we don’t know. You can also trial the service free of charge for 14 days.

The weird thing about the Zune Pass pricing is that it says “plus tax”, which doesn’t ring true. Why wouldn’t Microsoft include VAT in its pricing, given that Zune Pass is clearly aimed at consumers rather than business users? Hopefully that’s an error and will be wiped off by the time the info goes official.

The Zune Pass music service is expected to go live with the launch of Windows Phone 7 handsets in October. The subscription enables you to download as many songs as you like from the millions-strong library, and you can listen to these as many times as you like, provided you keep up the subscription.

In addition, you’ll get 10 song credits per month, and any songs you download using these you’ll own forever, regardless of whether you renew your Zune Pass or not.

For the Zune UK pass you don’t get 10 songs a month to keep, which I to my annoyance I found out after subbing for a month, now cancelled.
