Apple first announcement of the day was iOS 4.1, the latest iOS update. It packs in surprising new photo tech – HDR (high-dynamic range photos) – as well as introducing Game Center, a fistful of bug fixes and HD video uploads. Read on for more…
Steve Jobs kicked off the iOS 4.1 announcement by talking about HDR photos which are being added with iOS 4.1. It means your iPhone will grab one normal photo, one over-exposed photo and one under-exposed snap and combine them to create a new photo that gets the best from the conditions. That photo and the normal image will stay in your Photos app.
Game Center is hitting all devices with iOS 4.1. It’ll give you multiplayer gaming, auto-match you with players (“If you don’t have any friends”, says Steve Jobs). The first new game unveiled was Project Sword from Epic, a hack and slash battler which looks…well…epic.
iOS 4.1 updates will also include a welcome performance upgrade for iPhone 3G owners. There’ll also be a host of new bug fixes and full HD video uploads over Wi-Fi.
Story still developing, stay tuned for more.
