UPDATE: The BlackBerry Torch Expansys date is “rumour and inaccurate” according to a RIM spokersperson. RIM declined to give an official date in its place when asked.
The BlackBerry Torch still has no exact UK release date – at least from RIM, anyway. UK retailer Expansys says otherwise though, and has listed a stock date on its site for the BlackBerry 6, QWERTY sliding smartphone. The thing is, it’s not until October. Can you wait that long?

Well. The HTC Desire Z that’s listed on Mobiles.co.uk alongside the HTC Desire HD is certainly an unexpected bonus. If the site is clued in as it appears to be (Its HTC Desire HD listing correlates with all previous leaks), the HTC Desire Z is a version of HTC’s top end Sense Android smartphone with a slide out landscape QWERTY keyboard, a 3.7-inch WVGA screen and a 1GHz chip powering it all. In other words, yes, the HTC Desire Z sounds exactly like that HTC Vision prototype we saw leak out last month, and have taken the liberty of pasting into this screenshot for your perusal. Sadly though, the HTC Desire Z supposedly runs Android 2.1, rather than brand spanking new Froyo. Regardless, September 15th can’t come soon enough: we’ve always wanted a mainstream Motorola Milestone.
Ah, HTC Desire HD. As if we needed any more confirmation at this point that the HTC Desire HD is a 4.3-inch, Android 2.2 phone with an eight megapixel camera and 720p HD video recording, and 4GB of internal storage, it’s now being listed as such on Mobiles.co.uk. Sadly, the site, which is owned by Carphone Warehouse, doesn’t provide HTC Desire HD images, but it’s yet more evidence that this fella is coming next month – presumably at HTC‘s London press event. We’ve reached out to Mobiles.co.uk for more details, but we’d expect this to get pulled before we get anything back. Stay tuned.
