It’s not that there’s a great deal wrong with the Samsung YP-Q3. It’s small, pretty, and as ever with Samsung gadgets, it’s stuffed full of format support. The Samsung YP-Q3 will play H.264 or XviD videos, OGG and MP3 songs and even channel through your favourite radio station via means of a good old fashioned FM tuner.

The problem is of course that Apple looks set to steal all the hype tomorrow by relaunching its own tiny music player, the iPod nano. If the latest case leaks are anything to go by, it looks set to pack a touchscreen and a Shuffle-esque form factor, complete with a standard 30-pin port for iPod docking.
Still, if you don’t do iTunes, the Samsung YP-Q3 should be out later this year – we’ve contacted Samsung UK for details on pricing and will update when we hear back. Now, where’s that Samsung Galaxy rival to the new iPod touch gone?
