The Samsung Wave has been the only smartphone out there packing Samsung’s own Bada OS but not for much longer. The Samsung Wave 723 has just been announced bringing offering a budget option for Bada fans. So what can we expect from this simpler new Wave?
The Samsung Wave 723 arrives without the original Samsung Wave’s eye-popping Super AMOLED screen. Instead it’ll be packing a 3.2in WQVGA LCD screen.
Besides the screen, the Samsung Wave 723 has a 5MP camera with LED flash, 3G, 802.11n Wi-Fi, AGPS and a microSD slot. It’ll also grab QVGA video and supports H.264 HD video playback.
Just like its Bada-apacking big brother, the Samsung Wave 723 will use Samsung’s TouchWiz 3.0 interface and come with Dolphin browser. For fans of Gordon Gecko-style yuppie chic, the Samsung Wave 723 comes with a leather flip cover in the box.
The Samsung Wave 723 is set to launch in Germany in September and is headed to the UK shortly. We’ll hunt it down at IFA this week and pin Samsung down for a UK price and release date.
