The Toshiba Smart Pad tablet device that’s on the horizon will be running Android Froyo 2.2, not Windows 7, as was suggested last week. Its real name has also leaked, revealing the Froyo tablet to be called the Toshiba Folio 100, which isn’t so great. It sounds executive, not exciting or game changing – it makes me think of grey and beige meeting rooms and Filofaxes, don’t you think?

This is the latest in a string of leaks of the Froyo powered Toshiba tablet, after leaks back in July, and just a week ago. Aside from the disappointing name change, there was also some specs leaked. The Toshiba Android Froyo tablet will weigh 760g, and will have two stereo speakers and standard headphone jack. the Froyo tablet’s Internal memory weighs in at 16GB, and has a HDMI, USB 2.0 port, plus a USB 2.0 mini audio jack. It takes an SD card up to 32GB, and MMC.

The battery life on the Froyo powered Folio 100 isn’t amazing, and with mixed use clocks up around seven hours of life. It supports Flash, with and Opera Mobile browser, plus PDF reader, and RSS reader. It’s got a 1.3MP webcam.

Along with the Toshiba Android Froyo tablet leak, reports also came in that Toshiba is looking to add its own app store to the Android market…

The tablet has been teased for October, so expect more leaks as we get closer to its launch date.

What do you think about the Toshiba Folio 100? Is it pitching itself as a solid, reliable tablet, if a slightly dull one, as the name suggests?
