The Medal Of Honor debate that’s been raging in the media over the last few weeks has reached the ears of MPs this week, and the option to play as the Taliban in multiplayer has made a couple of them irate. It’s clear EA is treading on dangerous ground but whether the games giant has strayed too far is too hard to call. So, you tell us: is EA right? Vote in our poll.

We’re not going to get into the messy politics of whether the government could or should ban an individual game. Instead, we want to know whether you think EA has made the right decision by including the controversial character option, when soldiers are still coming back in coffins. Is the new Medal Of Honor pushing the boundaries of good taste too far, and coming off as a cynical cash in? Or should EA be lauded for addressing a very current conflict? Click either way in the poll below.

As always, voice your comments on the Medal of Honor debate in the comments below: we realise this is a difficult subject, and we’ve had some fiery opinions on both side of the fence, so keep it civil and constructive, and we’ll bring you the results tomorrow.

  • The Jackal

  • John

im tired of playing as the us army

    • Llcoolg

Yeah especailly as they have killed more ppl than the taliban!

it´s just a game, we don´t need to have so much prejudice.

  • Kralik

Doesn't DoD have bigger issues on their hands than banning a video game?

  • robbie21mcn

maybe if we were all just playing these games instead of murdering each other over land and religion this world would be a better place. and the only coffins coming home from abroad would be from people who fall ill on holiday.

Uk defense secretary Liam Fox said: “It's hard to believe any citizen of our country would wish to buy such a thoroughly un-British game. I would urge retailers to show their support for our armed forces and ban this tasteless product.”

In response, the spokesman for EA has clarified that the game is an authenticated digital version of a soldier's experience in the Afghanistan war, and that the report published about killing of British troops is inaccurate, as “no British troops feature in the game.”

When Liam Fox claims it's an un-british game was he referring to the fact that the game had no british troops in it LOL, but it's ok to send our brave under paid and poorly equipped troops over there in the first place, what a Hypocrite

  • J R Hodge

Yup here we go again, Its ok to send our boys to war on a whim or lies, to see them die die in there hundreds to watch the funeral processions every day, yeah that's ok isn't it??, if politictions had had any guts at all we would not be wageing war on any body, I dont see any of our brave polititions standing on the pedastalls claiming its a disgarace that our youth are dying every day,
But they will quickley stand and shout over a poxy game that they have not even seen….”its only a bloody game”, and just for political point scoring as usal, they don't a give monkeys toss about anything except them selves and there own pockets and they certainley don't give S**T about the men they send to there deaths everyday. Rant over,,, Jeff Hodge Ex squaddie

  • GeneralSynopsis

The UK Secretary of State for Defence is a moron, now that is bad news for British forces in Afghanistan. It also reflects badly on the intelligence of those who appointed him

  • .G.

If they weren't fighting the war in the first place there'd be no game to make. They wanna get a grip on real life before they mess with video games … ive seen gruesome sick movies no one says ban then … lol makes me laff
