Valve is to release another Left 4 Dead DLC pack – The Sacrifice. But which version of Left 4 Dead is this DLC for, you ask? Why, it is for both versions – both Left 4 Dead and Left 4 Dead 2 players can get in on the action.

The Sacrifice is a DLC campaign that plugs the gap in plot between the original game and the Left 4 Dead 2 DLC The Passing. In that add-on, we learned that one character from the original game had made the ultimate sacrifice. The new DLC tells that story, allowing you to choose which of your team mates will lay down their lives for the good of the other survivors.

Originally planned as a downloadable pack for Left 4 Dead 1, Valve have – in a typical Valve move – decided to let owners of both versions join in the fun.

Left 4 Dead 2 players will also be receiving a version of the No Mercy campaign (the one in the spooky hospital) from the original game, reworked and tweaked for L4D2. PC and Mac gamers will get their DLC for free via Steam, while Xbox 360 owners will have to cough up a small fee.
