Portal 2 isn’t arriving until January but Valve has just teased us with a glimpse of the new Portal 2 co-op mode. It’s an incredibly short slice of gameplay but reveals that humans are out for Portal 2 co-op. Instead we’ll be taking on the role of two of GlaDOS’s robots. And it looks awesome…
Valve hasn’t spilled many details about Portal 2 co-op yet but with twice as many portals to play with, we’re promised puzzles that are twice as tricksy. The Portal 2 co-op campaign will be as long as the single player mode and include its own storyline.
The basic premise of Portal 2 co-op is that GlaDOS needs human observers to observe her robot tests and sends the two droid into the depths of Aperture Science to find some.
In an interview with GameTrailers TV, Portal 2 writer Eric Wolpaw says Portal 2 co-op will be an entirely different experience. He says “Four portals change everything.”
We’re promised more Portal 2 co-op details in the next few weeks when Valve pops up at Penny Arcade’s PAX Prime in Seattle.
In the meantime, take a look at the Portal 2 co-op video above and let us know what you make of it. Are you excited to get your hands on those bothersome bots?
