We heard a HTC Google Chrome OS tablet was in the pipeline just last week, and now some more details have emerged via a new report: specifically, the company and technology behind the device’s multitouch capabilities. Read on to find out more.
If you’ll recall, we heard last week that a big G branded but HTC made HTC Google Chrome OS tablet was on the way, and was set to go on sale in the US in November on the Verizon network. Now, a new report fingers the company whose technology will allegedly power its screen and gesture inputs: Israeli firm N-trig.
Haaretz reports that the HTC Google Chrome OS tablet will use N-trig’s mutltiouch technology, suggesting that you’ll be able to pull off all sorts of two, three four or more finger gestures on the iPad rival – you can see a video of what N-trig’s capable of below.
If true, it’s an interesting move given that N-trig’s technology is actually integrated into Windows 7, and Microsoft has actually invested in the company. But no exclusivity deal means that N-trig would be free to supply for the HTC Google Chrome OS tablet, says Haaretz.
