The news that a HTC Google Chrome OS tablet may feature N-trig multitouch gesture skills sparked our imaginations and we began to wonder what else we might like to see in a Chrome OS tablet. Here are the top five items on our wish list.

HTC Sense

Of all the extra interface layers that Android phone makers have plied us with, the only one that doesn’t make us wrinkle our noses in disgust is HTC Sense. It’s not for everyone, but Sense brings a glossy layer of elegance and easy social networking integration to Android and we would like to see if HTC can bring the same magic to a HTC Google Chrome OS tablet.

HDMI

We don’t want to mess around with base stations or docks – just slap an HDMI out on the edge of the tablet and let us connect it directly to a plasma screen without and hassle. A HDMI-capable HTC Google Chrome OS tablet with support for DivX, MKV and other video formats would be a killer addition to any living room.

Front-facing Camera

We aren’t even that bothered about a rear-facing camera, to be honest. Just mount a camera on the front and we can use it for video chat. If Apple makes good on opening up FaceTime we will use that, otherwise there is Skype and whatever Fring cooks up until Skype lets them play again. Easy video chat would make the HTC Google Chrome OS tablet a must-buy for thousands of people with relatives on the other side of the world or holed-up in college halls of residence.

SD Card Slot

..or microSD, or even just make it a USB host so we can jam in a memory stick. The omission of SD support from the iPad was a pain and being able to expand whatever storage the HTC Google Chrome OS tablet comes with will mean we can cram in more music and video as well as opening up the possibility of side-loading apps once we know more about how that aspect of Chrome OS will work.

Bluetooth

Again this is an area where USB host support could help too. Let us connect Bluetooth mice and keyboards to make using the HTC Google Chrome OS tablet as a proper PC that much easier. Pairing with a set of Bluetooth speakers will make using the tablet as a home audio device much easier. Basically, if it speaks Bluetooth, we would like to be able to connect to it, thank you very much.

I love reading articles of this sort; makes me feel I'm not insane for seeing the potential in Chrome OS. Here's my wish list:
-LOTS of offline support (through HTML5, so it keeps the fast boot and such); but at the very least offline available editing/composing for GDocs
-Pixel Qi screen for the best of both worlds indoor/outdoor viewing
-Free 3G like the Kindle (hey, I can dream, right?)
-Tightly integrated GVoice via Gmail (for phone calls and texting)
    -Cloud printing
-Surround sound output in addition to the HDMI

Probably more I could think of. I can't wait for November, but I fear I may be disappointed and a Chrome OS tab won't be out until 2011.

Hot chat, right here!
