It’s consumer electronics-fest IFA next week, and we’ll be going along. In the build up, ViewSonic is outing an Android tablet, the ViewPad 7, which we’ll be getting hands on with at IFA next week.

The tablet is named the ViewPad 7, and is a 7” Android tablet with 3G and wifi connectivity. It’s packing a Micro SD slot, Bluetooth, G-Sensor, and USB connectivity, and front and back based cameras. It’s not a particularly adventurous name, which leads me to thinking that this might not be a particularly adventurous tablet, but we’ll have to wait and see until IFA, when we’ll get a full hands-on of the tablet.

On top of the ViewPad, there’ll also be a 10” Intel-based tablet from ViewSonic, with dual boot Microsoft and Android operating systems.

The ViewPad 7 is just one of a string of Android tablets we’re expecting to see in the next six months, with more on the way from Samsung, Motorola, Archos, Dell and LG, the latter of whom is firm in its quest to quell the iPad, with its VP of mobile device marketing Chang Ma telling the WSJ that its tablet will unquestionably be better than the iPad.

What’s your view? Will the ViewSonic ViewPad 7 be something to watch out for, or do you think it looks like another in a list of potentially sub par tablet devices?
