UPDATE: The BlackBerry Torch Expansys date is “rumour and inaccurate” according to a RIM spokersperson. RIM declined to give an official date in its place when asked.
The BlackBerry Torch still has no exact UK release date – at least from RIM, anyway. UK retailer Expansys says otherwise though, and has listed a stock date on its site for the BlackBerry 6, QWERTY sliding smartphone. The thing is, it’s not until October. Can you wait that long?
Head on through to Expansys and you can see that the BlackBerry Torch is listed with a stock arrival date of 1 October – as well as an eye watering price for £569.99 SIM-free (To put that in perspective, Expansys sells the Samsung Galaxy S SIM-free for £439.99).
BlackBerry Torch hands on photos and first impressions
It’s a real shame that UK BlackBerry addicts have to wait that long for the BlackBerry Torch when it went on sale in the US more than a week ago, and we’ve seen another more traditional BlackBerry, the Curve 3G, come and go in between.
We’ve contacted RIM to confirm whether this BlackBerry Torch release date is accurate, and will update when we hear back.
