The folks at TweetDeck have come through on their promise earlier in the week, and rolled out the TweetDeck for Android Beta. It looks great, with a really crisp, clean looking UI.
TweetDeck for Android has lots of the features TweetDeck users will be used to, like user searches, but it groups multiple columns on your desktop into one home column on your phone. Scroll over, and you get a ‘me’ column, with all of your recent activity and replies, and scroll across again for DMs.
The TweetDeck home column is colour coded, for where the message comes from, black for Twitter, dark blue for Facebook, light blue for Foursquare and red for Buzz. It’s also got location based services, for your Foursquare hook ups.
So far been well received, and it’s still only in beta. What would be good is if that colour coding could also be assigned to a second Twitter account, for those who look after personal and business feeds, but it’s this that needs more work in the beta, handling of multiple Twitter accounts is what needs some work.
UPDATE: Although the beta has been announced as arriving today, it looks like it might be another couple of hours until it reaches the Android store. Stay tuned, and we’ll update here as soon as it goes live.
Android users! Have you switched? How is it for you?
