The Google invite that appeared earlier in the week, to an announcement pertaining to “a couple of cool new mobile features”, was a touch unexpected, and nobody is quite sure what to expect. We asked you, our readers, what you think Google will be announcing.
Despite the invite stating that what would be announced would be mobile features, 35 per cent of you, the biggest proportion, said that you were expecting to hear something about Google Me later today. Surprisingly though, only just under three per cent of you thought that Google would be resurrecting the technology behind Wave and porting it into something else.
Plenty of you had your own ideas about what could be on its way as well, from the bizarre to the astute, and 23 per cent of you gave your own answer.
3.3 Gingerbread was one of the answers which gave us pause for thought – with all these tablet devices in the wings to rival the iPad, Android will have a big part to play, and it’s highly likely Google will have some exciting features to roll out. On user expected Google Talk with a camera, and another, Nexus Two. One out of leftfield was Google Music, which would be a shock to us all, given the raft of acquisitions generally centred around social networking and gaming tools.
Only nine per cent of you expected the announcement to be connected to today’s Motorola Droid 2 launch date, and another nine, Google currency.
21 per cent are expecting Eric Schmidt to appear clad in full armour, chariots at the ready, to make a formal declaration of war against Apple, or Facebook, or both.
Question is, who would get to play Braveheart? Can’t see Jobs painting himself blue, can you?
