The iPhone 4 popped up for sale on Vodafone Pay As You Go just yesterday, but if you had your eyes on picking one up this way, you’re out of luck. It’s all sold out already, with no date for when the next batch turn up. Is there anywhere else you can get one today?
While we were put off by the measly data limits on Vodafone’s iPhone 4 Pay As You Go offerings, it seems plenty of others weren’t, as within 24 hours, the network has run out. Vodafone doesn’t give a date for when the next batch earmarked for Pay As You Go customers will arrive but says “more are on the way”. You can still order one in the meantime, but you’ll have to wait on a first come first served basis for yours.

Unfortunately, almost two months after launch, we’re still seeing a pretty similar story across the board. On Apple’s online store, unlocked iPhone 4 handsets you can use with a Pay As You Go SIM take three weeks to ship.
The 16GB iPhone 4 is completely out of stock on O2 online and in the Geater London area for the next week, and we can’t find any Pay As You Go tariff that removes the Out Of Stock label on the Orange order page. Tesco Mobile is completely out of stock, while Three and T-Mobile do not yet sell the iPhone 4 on Pay As You Go.
Still, what can you do when Apple creates such a phenomenon that its own factories can’t keep up? If your network is still saying no, we suggest calling their bluff and threatening to leave.
