Batman: Arkham City was only unveiled as the title for the Arkham Asylum sequel last week but it seems the name was hiding in the original game all along. Developers, Rocksteady, have revealed that Arkham City secrets are hidden in Batman: Arkham Asylum. Read on to find out how to get at them…
Batman: Arkham Asylum had plenty of hidden extras but one went totally undiscovered – a secret room hidden by villainous Warden Quincy Sharp containing the blueprints for his central Gotham prison, Arkham City. It doesn’t show up on any maps, isn’t visible using Batman’s detective vision and can only be uncovered using explosive foam.
Rocksteady Studios’ Paul Crocker explained to Game Informer why the Arkham City plans and concept art was hidden in Batman: Akrham Asylum: “From the beginning we knew that Quincy was a bad guy and planned what his next move would be. The room obviously ties into Akrham City but to be fair, we hid it pretty well…after following forum posts for 6 months or so, we decided to announce it…”
To uncover the Arkham City secrets in Batman: Akrham Asylum, you need to head for Quincy Sharp’s office. On the left wall before the steps up to the door, plant three rounds of explosive gel and you’ll destroy the wall and reveal the hidden room.
Inside the previously undiscovered Batman: Arkham Asylum location you’ll discover the blueprint for Arkham City and two pieces of concept art. They reveal that Batman: Arkham City will include a hotel, a steel mill, a psychiatric ward and a prison as locations.
