HTC devices keeping popping up like mobile mushrooms. A new HTC Android device leaked out from Verizon yesterday, now a seriously tasty looking mystery mobile dubbed the HTC Glacier has slid into view in a benchmarking database. Rooting around the GLBenchmark database which compares phone performance, AlienBabelTech uncovered the HTC Glacier (a codename that’s popped up before). Its benchmark score puts it above all the 1Ghz Snapdragon smartphones out there including the HTC Evo 4G.

In the CPU test, the HTC Glacier scored 1432 frames, three times swifter than the HTC Evo 4G at 516 frames and distinctly snappier than the iPhone 4 which scored 1016 frames. That level of speediness suggests the HTC Glacier could be the first HTC phone to come packing the Qualcomm’s next-generation dual-core Snapdragon processor.

Qualcomm announced a few months back that it was sending the new processor out to partners and HTC would be in a prime position to snap it up. However, despite the details in the benchmarking database, we’ve no idea what the HTC Glacier will look like, what OS it’ll be running (though it’s likely to be Android) or what other specs it’ll have.

Hopefully, the HTC Glacier will make it to the UK unlike the HTC Evo 4G which has remained a US-only proposition. While we ponder just how cool the super-speedy HTC Glacier could be, there’s still the prospect of the HTC Desire HD to drool over.
