BlackBerry Pearl 3G reaches PAYG for the first time today, on T-Mobile, which has only been available on monthly contracts up until now. To tempt you all in they’re also offering six months of free email and internet.
T-Mobile are the first in the UK to roll out the BlackBerry Pearl on PAYG, priced at £250. To qualify for six months free email and internet you’ll have to get your skates on and sign up by the end of August, and top up £20 to get yourself up and running with the BlackBerry Pearl freebies.
T-Mobile has said that opening the BlackBerry Pearl up to PAYG is part of its effort to “bring more affordable, top end smartphones to the wider audience”. Which sounds like T-Mobile has plans to add more high end smartphones to the PAYG range.
At the end of the six months, you’ll have to buy a booster for internet and email access, depending on what flavour of booster you choose, it usually works out about £1 per day, with a 1GB fair usage policy on your data.
