According to a Twitter account run by O2 Germany, the Motorola Milestone (The European version of the Motorola Droid sold on Verizon in the US) will be updated to Android 2.2 in September. Of course, a Motorola Milestone Froyo update could actually hit the UK even sooner. Android watchers may remember that the phone, now looking a bit long in the tooth, isn’t actually sold with a network here in Blighty (except through resellers) – it’s unlocked, which actually ought to make a Motorola Milestone Froyo update a piece of cake, as no extra settings need to be attended to.

We’ve contacted Motorola UK to ask when we can expect a Motorola Milestone Froyo update on these shores, and will update when we hear back.
