Third quarter financial results are in for Apple, and unsurprisingly, it’s been a good one, despite the iPhone 4 antenna saga pushing share prices down a touch. Apple posted net quarterly profits of $3.25 billion yesterday, and announced that iPad sales were coming level with Mac sales, even after a 33 per cent year on year leap in Mac sales.

Apple still seems intent on waging war on its rivals after the iPhone 4 antenna furore. Now Apple has added the Nokia N97 Mini to its page of phones which it claims suffer the same signal drop problems as the iPhone 4. We love a good concept phone here at Electricpig but too many concept designs boil down to slightly different curves or oddly shaped screens. The Nokia Kinetic is a bit different. It really (ho ho) leaps out at us.
An update to Power DVD has added 2D to 3D conversion in realtime. The capabilities mean that any DVD (not Blu-ray) and some video files can be converted to 3D as you watch. As part of the test we got shown clips of The Duchess, and the 2D to 3D even managed to bring the wooden Miss Knightley to life, in a vibrant, sharp image.
