Wakey-wakey, it’s Thursday morning and the weekend is almost here. Before you start making plans for Friday night, lets cast our mind back to some of the hot games and gadget stories you may have missed yesterday. It’s time for your Techie Breakie.
Apple popped up in two legal stories yesterday. Steve Jobs & co. are said to be considering a challenge to the recent US decision that means Jailbreaking your iPhone does not fall foul of the Digital Millenium Copyright Act.
Apple is also having to defend itself from an incoming legal threat – three iPad owners who claim that they suffered burns when their iPads overheated. We took a closer look and gave our opinions on the case.
The BlindType keyboard made gawp a little. An intriguing thought occurred, though – if it can autocorrect to what you probably mean, can’t it just write what you ought to mean instead?
Apple created a directory of Safari extensions which looked genuinely interesting – an attempt to create a sort of App Store-like infrastructure for browser apps. Really well designed ones, obviously.
We also looked at how to use a BlackBerry Pearl 3G to power-tweet at a festival and learned how to turbo charge its music player with playlists and shortcuts.
