iPhone 4 jailbreak video revealed

The iPhone 4 jailbreak from the iPhone Dev Team hasn’t made its way out into the world yet thanks to some issues with apps including FaceTime, as we told you yesterday. But more proof that the iPhone 4 jailbreak has been achieved has been revealed in a video interview with Cydia creator Saurik (known to his mum as Jay Freeman). While former iPhone jailbreak guru GeoHot posted a picture of an iPhone 4 running Cydia, Saurik actually shows it in action in the iPhone 4 jailbreak video above. He brandishes an iPhone 4 clad in a Bumper case and points to the source of the iPhone 4 antenna controversy to prove the hardware is legit.

Saurik explains that it’s not just FaceTime that’s giving the iPhone 4 jailbreak coders trouble. Processes that require the phone to check in with Apple are currently causing them headaches so it’s also the App Store and iBooks that need to be fixed before the iPhone 4 jailbreak solution can be released. That could still be within days.

Just as we’ve done in the past, Saurik warns eager iPhone 4 owners not to snaffled up any of the fake iPhone 4 jailbreak tools currently floating around the web and confirms that the iPhone Dev Team don’t plan to charge for their jailbreaks any time soon.

Seeing the iPhone 4 jailbreak on video validates the claims from Comex and MuscleNerd that the solution is very nearly ready to release. In another interview with Techcrunch, Saurik revealed that there are currently 7 developers running the iPhone 4 jailbreak.
