After all those intriguing Windows Phone 7 handset codenames from HTC, one of the forthcoming devices has finally shown its touchscreen face to the world. The unnamed HTC Windows Phone 7 handset has similar looks and specs to the HTC Desire but it’s unmistakably running a developer build of the new Microsoft OS…
The snaps of the HTC Windows Phone 7 handset which found their way to Engadget show a 3.7in super-LCD touchscreen phone packing the same touch-sensitive buttons as the Nexus One and HTC Desire. It’s apparently packing a 1GHz Snapdragon processor and an 8MP camera.
Another shot of the HTC Windows 7 phone shows a menu including developer tools like BandSetting, GestureBester and BatteryTool. The source of the leak claims the hardware is finished and ready to go.
Curiously, though HTC has said that there will be a Windows Phone 7 HTC Sense skin, there’s no sign of it in the pictures. While the phone is finished perhaps the software is being tinkered with.
A leaked roadmap earlier this month promised the HTC Gold and HTC Ace will be arriving in October and November along with the Android-packing HTC Vision (the HTC Desire with a QWERTY-keyboard along for the ride). If this leaked phone was one of them, would you be tempted to pick it up?
