Cineworld-aviators-3

Cineworld just upgraded the 3D glasses on offer at its cinemas, plumping for aviator-style specs that mean you won’t look a complete dork when you leave the multiplex forgetting you’ve still got them on.

Cineworld reckons the 3D aviator glasses are “this season’s must-have item for stylish cinema viewing,” and while we’re not sure anyone will notice we’re wearing them in the darkened auditorium, they do look a lot less bulky than the movie goggles we’ve been forced to don in the past.

Using phrases such as “on-trend” and namedropping Kate Moss, Cheryl Cole and Victoria Beckham as fans of Aviator eyewear, Cineworld’s clearly not gunning for acne-ridden movie spods, but instead trying to make 3D sexy.

Has it succeeded? At the very least, these 3D Aviators look a lot less bulky than standard cinema specs. But the big news for those with prescription lenses already perched on their nose is that Cineworld are also offering clip-on 3D glasses for spectacle wearers.

The clip-on lenses grab on to the bridge of your existing spectacles. That’s much better than balancing a pair of second specs over your own. Right? Shout up in the comments below.

I'm all for these. Though with the rest of my dress sense I fear I may never be “on trend”.

    I prefer the Shrek ones.

Exqueeze me? Baking powder? Oh, sorry, wrong Mike Myers film… which ones are those then?!
