Remember yesterday’s ridiculous Daily Star story about a non-existent GTA: Rothbury game featuring Raoul Moat? It’s been removed from the paper’s website now but the journalist that concocted it has taken to Facebook to attack gamers, sites like Electricpig and pretty much the entirety of Twitter for daring to criticise him…
Destructoid reports that Jerry Lawton, the Daily Star journo who penned the straight-faced story on the GTA spoof, wrote on his Facebook page:
“Baffled by the fury of adult games. These grown (?!?) men who sit around all day playing computer games with one another who’ve today chosen to enter the real world just long enough to complain about my story slamming a Raoul Moat version of Grand Theft Auto! You’d would think I’d denied the Holocaust!!! Think I’ll challenge them to a virtual reality duel…stab…I win!!!”
With tweets atacking his story still bouncing around the web, you might have thought Lawton would have been a little bit remorseful. Sadly, it seems he may be too busy bashing the exclamation key for that.
There’s been no word from Rockstar yet on the Daily Star story but we’re fairly certain the Red Dead Redemption makers will be none too happy with this attempt to stir up a furore about the fictional game.
