Didn’t see our HTC Legend review the first time around? It’s worth a look to get the skinny on this cracking Android phone which holds up well against newer budget handsets like the HTC Wildfire. If you want to pick up one of these Unibody beauties, our Ultimate Buyer’s Guide will help find you the best deal to suit your pocket.

Best for early adopters

The HTC Legend has been out for a while now, so it is pretty easy to pick up for free on contract. Only Vodafone are officially offering the phone through their site, so you will need to go SIM-Free or check out resellers if you want another network,

If you want to get you hands on the phone, the whole phone and nothing but, then the HTC Legend is available SIM-free and unlocked from a number of retailers. Expansys have it available for next-day delivery for £349.99, but there are smaller outfits that will shave a few pounds off. Oosoo.co.uk will sell you a Legend for around £334.

Best for data hogs

The Legend is a pretty decent web browsing device, despite its smallish screen and you will of course want to take advantage of Google’s cloud of services, so a good data tariff is a must. Sadly, Vodafone is one of the stingier networks when it comes to data deals so you can expect to pay a premium if you want to do much surfing.

Vodafone will give you an 18 month contract with 500 MB of data for £25, but you only get a stingy 100 minutes of talk time. A better deal is 300 minutes, 500MB  for £25 available via Omio. If you want more  data – and you probably do – we can’t find 1GB cheaper than £47/month again via Omio.

So much for Vodafone. Go via Beepy and you can get a Legend on a T-Mobile contract with 600 mins and ‘unlimited’ data for £25/month.

Best for chatterboxes

If you want to talk rather than surf, Vodafone is a bit more generous. £35/month for 18 months will get you 900 Minutes of chat plus 500 GB of web. Just a fiver more (£47) will get you  a huge 1200 minutes of jaw ache, plus unlimited texts.

BuyMobilePhones‘ deal of 1200 cross-network mins + Unlimited Texts for £40 is worth a look too, but bear in mind you are locked in for two years – theHTC Legend is still going to be a decent phone by then, but there will definitely be something much better around to tempt you.

Best all round deal

We would recommend a T-Mobile via Beepy – Give them a nominal 20 quid for the phone and you get £25/month for 18 months, with 300 minutes and 300 texts to keep you going.
